Demonstrators safety pointers for the capitol.
Please bring;
Water - Salt Tablets
Umbrella
Chair
Flag
Hat

Some item's listed can be purchased in the cafeteria.

" If it's too hot our elderly demonstrators are urged to stay inside the Senate cafeteria."

Remember
Do not direct your anger towards Mexico during this demonstration. All of our messages must be directed at our state government and the employers, as they are the only ones who can solve the problem.

Because there is a potential for a hundred plus of people to show up for the demonstration we must all display the utmost responsible and courteous behaviors. demonstration participants may begin arriving anytime between 1:30 - 1:45 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair, refreshments and make an afternoon out of it. Stay an hour or two, meet and greet other demonstration participants, speak to the media and most importantly be civil. Be supportive.

Pay careful attention to all traffic safety and city laws. Use turn signals, drive carefully, do not impede traffic; carefully pull completely off the road. Whatever you do, do not create a need for Salt Lake City Police to site you for traffic violations. We have permission to be in the area, but please, obey all traffic regulations and do not impede foot traffic on the sidewalks or building entrances, do not trespass on private properties we do not have permission to access.

Media will be in the area on that day and will want to interview participants. Be careful with the media -they can be our foe. Give them no reason to use a sound bite that will cleverly be used to make you or we look bad.

If you say anything about the people who enter our country illegally they will portray you as a racist. The message should be that this is about national security. Stop the criminals, stop the terrorists, protect us from gangs -uphold the rule of law and ensure that immigrants come legally.

Be civil, be respectful, and direct all statements towards The Employers, The Utah State Government, President Bush and Congress. Please try to hold back your comments about the government of Mexico or the people who are violating our laws. Remember they will continue to do it as long as our government is remiss in enforcing the laws. There is only one way to stop the invasion and that is for our government to do its job by holding employers accountable for hiring illegal workers, seal the border and stop Aiding Illegal Immigration.

Remember to carefully park off the road and set up your chairs and signs and stay for an hour or two. The more people who show up the better message we send. Bring video cameras to document the event and your participation. If there are opposition protestors, you can send them a message by ignoring them.

Wave, smile and ignore all idiots –let them make fools of themselves but do not stoop to their level of ignorance. Let the media show them as the aggressors. This is a peaceful demonstration.

! BRING YOUR AMERICAN AND UTAH FLAG! [With flag pole]

Thank you for participating in this important demonstration, lets get out and make state history.
